A Day
Observed

A story presented by

Scene 1:
‘Morning’

It was a bright cold day with glassy surfaces that looked hard.
Into the square frame he stood as if in a dream.

What emerged was precisely what he expected to find: a reflection of memory images. Contemplating his face in the photo frame he waited.

By the steady hands of his watch, he listened to time. Every day for the past sixteen days he saw her. Silver lingered in the crease of
an open book.

So absorbed in his thoughts
he hardly saw the platinum catch-all, the key, or the revelation locked inside those lapis lazuli cufflinks tossed unmistakably in cold blue.

A gold plated and cherry red alligator wrapped Jaeger LeCoultre Ados travel clock.  This is a spectacular example of a beautiful travel or desk clock in "New Old Stock" condition, including the original box.  The clock was conceived by Jaeger in the 1920's and came in a variety of different shapes and formats, and was made by Jaeger for many other notable retailers at the time such as Hermès, Cartier and Asprey.  The protective cover of the dial folds back on itself to become the stand for the clock once placed in position.  The dial has a linen texture to it and is fully signed, including the number '8' above the six o'clock position.  This signifies that the mechanical movement is an eight day movement, meaning once fully wound, it will have enough power to run for eight days without being wound again.  The dial features gold stick markers and a full set of luminous plots on each hour.  The hands have perfect full luminous material, and there is an additional smaller hand which is for the alarm.  This can be set through the main winding stem.  Made in Switzerland, circa 1960's
