A silver and gold plated table lighter with buckle design. This wonderful and rare piece was made for the world's most luxurious retailer company; Hermès. This buckle design was conceived in the 1950's by Hermès and was featured on a number of different pieces for the home.
The body of the lighter was made by the French manufacturers Ravinet D'Enfert for Hermès. They were large scale silversmiths in France and were contracted by Hermès to make home goods for the luxury atelier during the mid 20th Century.
The lighter part was made by lighter specialist manufacturers; Colibri. Launched in 1928, Colibri went on to become one of the leading names in smoking accessories in the world. Hermès worked with both Colibri and Dupont for pocket and table lighters. The lighter is a fuel based lighter and is in perfect workin condition. The lighter element is easily removed from the body for refueling and changing the flint, when needed. It is also fully signed on the base.
The piece is fully singed on the base. Condition is excellent throughout. Made in France, circa 1950's.
