Scene 1:
‘Morning’

It was a bright cold day with glassy surfaces that looked hard.
Into the square frame he stood as if in a dream.

What emerged was precisely what he expected to find: a reflection of memory images. Contemplating his face in the photo frame he waited.

By the steady hands of his watch, he listened to time. Every day for the past sixteen days he saw her. Silver lingered in the crease of
an open book.

So absorbed in his thoughts
he hardly saw the platinum catch-all, the key, or the revelation locked inside those lapis lazuli cufflinks tossed unmistakably in cold blue.

Scene 2:
‘Noon’

He remained.Trapped in that enormous room,
unmistakably familiar in feeling yet so peculiar.

Above the mantle was
displayed an Austrian hound
of impeccable integrity.

His gaze fell on the letter opener. By accident she had learnt more about his life from the contents of that letter than anywhere.

Cleopatra’s eye reflected
the sun. Through the hypnotism
of precious metals there
emerged a dark slender shadow.

Scene 3:
‘Evening’

All this time light was receding from the room.

“I should explain why I spend so much time here”, said the silhouette. Leaves moved like shadows across her eyes.

It’s not too late to turn back. Time moved with faint sounds.

Venini hourglass. Hand-blown lurid Murano glass.

He unscrewed the telescopic cup, rolled and remained still. Black eyes on the dice prophesied a new cycle.

Staring down at the varnished surface her mouth worried him while her eyes examined the gold cufflink.

Scene 4:
‘Night’

Everything went crashing black.

Pale graceful hands placed
the gold stud box delicately
on the table.

He lit a match to make sure the watch had really stopped. Smoke lingered from its vesta case.

As the travel clock neared
one the figure vanished into dappled shadows.

A pair of solid eighteen carat yellow gold and vitreous enamel clip earrings. This fabulous pair of stylish and eye catching earrings. Aside from being beautifully made and designed, the most striking aspext to them is the fact that one is a gold background with black spots, and the other is the reverse, black background and gold spots! For this reason they were called the "Positive & Negative" earrings. These earrings were designed by Angela Cummings for America's

Honing her craft, she studied art in Italy and jewelry in Germany, graduating from Zeichenakademie with degrees in goldsmithing and gemology. In 1968, she joined the renowned house of Tiffany & Co. in New York, working under the tutelage of Donald Claffin for several years before launching her first full collection under her own name in 1975. During her tenure at Tiffany, which lasted until 1984, she created a stunning array of jewelry, often drawing inspiration from nature's bounty - the sea, flora, and wildlife. Her work, characterized by the use of yellow gold and inlaid gems like lapis lazuli, jade, mother-of-pearl, coral, wood, and opal, epitomized this natural influence, as seen in her beloved gold Rose Petal necklace and earring suite. She remains one of the few named jewelry designers to have graced the Tiffany legacy, joining the ranks of esteemed talents like Paloma Picasso, Jean Schlumberger, and Elsa Peretti.

The earrings are in perfect condition. There is a secure and comfortably made clip that will hold the earring on the lobe of the ear. If so desired there are pads that can be added to make them softer on the back of the ear. They are fully signed Tiffany & Co. and "750" for eighteen carat yellow gold. The were made in Hong Kong. This was commonplace for these pieces of jewellery for Tiffany to be made in their Hong Kong workshop. Made circa 1970's
