This is a simple, clean and striking pair of earrings. The silver surround was shaped to make the faceted rectangular blue glass to add just enough detail. The frames themselves are all hand made and finished with a slight hammered finish to them. A modernist design and a pair of bench made earrings from scratch.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe earrings are fully signed on the back of each one. There is a \"sterling\" lmark on the inside of each earring. Above this on one side is the name \"R. Pierik\". The other has \"Fin R\". From extensive research there is no information on the jeweller. IN this day and age, that is something of an anomoly! However, the font used in the 'sterling' is very much that of a Native American font. This would leave us to believe that it was perhaps a young bench artisan working in a larger workshop\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA beautifully engineered piece of Cartier jewellery in which the technique is as important as the material itself.
