An eighteen carat yellow and white gold basket weave designed gold lighter. This lighter is beautifully made by a jeweller that has worked either independently from, or with the French company S.T. Dupont. Probably the finest name in the world of lighters, this prestigious company recently celebrated its 140th anniversary. The woven gold case surrounds the original framework of their lighters. So, you have all the quality, reliability and durability of a Dupont lighter, with the beauty and craftsmanship of a jeweller made exterior.

We one would come to expect from an already high quality lighter, then covered in eighteen carat gold, it has great weight to it, and is very rewarding in the hand. The rear hinge work illustrates the quality of the make, and shows that it was made by a jeweller with great talent. The exposed flint wheel is crisp and easy to work.

This is a butane lighter, for which the gas is still available to purchase. The lighter is in exceptional condition, showing little signs of having ever been used. It is fully marked on the base of the lighter with three separate marks including the "750" for eighteen carat gold. The jeweller mark has not been identified. Made in Europe, the piece dates circa1980's.
