A ladies automatic solid eighteen carat gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust reference 6917 model. This is THE smaller size Rolex. If you are looking to add the 26mm case size to your wrist, this is the model to get. Not only did the lady President get its own bracelet, just like the men's size. The concealed Crownclasp President bracelet gives the watch a seamless appearance on the wrist, allowing the uninterrupted flow of gold to take center stage. This version has a rare and seldomn seem dial on this size. The printed bold black Roman numeral dial on the stark white background.

The writing and minute track surrounding the bold Roman numerals, are all printed in black, a monocromatic look which pops cleanly off the dial. The dial is signed “T Swiss T” at the foot of the dial, below the six o’clock marker. All original Tritium lume plots are in tact as well as in the hands, and are not re-finished and have toned to a beautiful warm, café latté colour. Perhaps one of the best looking examples of this reference we have handled. 

The watch is powered by a Rolex, Swiss made, twenty nine jewel automatic calibre 2030.Introduced around 1970, the Rolex caliber 2030 was a compact automatic movement developed for the smaller Oyster Perpetual watches of the period. Measuring just 20mm across, it replaced the earlier 1161 and 1166 calibers and represented an important modernization of Rolex’s movements for ladies’ watches.

The 28-jewel caliber operated at the then relatively high frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and incorporated automatic winding, hacking seconds and Rolex’s fine regulation system. The caliber 2030 was the time-only movement of the family, with the closely related 2035 adding a date complication. Both were eventually succeeded by the 2130 and 2135 generation during the 1980s

The watch is fitted to its original Rolex President eighteen carat gold bracelet with removable links in place, which, if needed, can be removed to make the bracelet smaller. 

The watch was made circa 1983 with serial number 7,617,XXX. The watch is in original condition, likely unpolished, with wear commensurate with age. The bracelet does have some sag to it, as is expected with gold bracelets now close to forty four years old. The watch does not come with its original papers or box. We do not know the service history of the watch, but the watch is running well. The watch comes with a Foundwell one year warranty against mechanical failure.
