A Day
Observed

A story presented by

Scene 1:
‘Morning’

It was a bright cold day with glassy surfaces that looked hard.
Into the square frame he stood as if in a dream.

What emerged was precisely what he expected to find: a reflection of memory images. Contemplating his face in the photo frame he waited.

By the steady hands of his watch, he listened to time. Every day for the past sixteen days he saw her. Silver lingered in the crease of
an open book.

So absorbed in his thoughts
he hardly saw the platinum catch-all, the key, or the revelation locked inside those lapis lazuli cufflinks tossed unmistakably in cold blue.

His gaze fell on the letter opener. By accident she had learnt more about his life from the contents of that letter than anywhere.

A solid eighteen carat yellow gold and diamond set watch. This beautiful, Art Deco inspired watch is a modern take on the classic "cocktail watch". Elegant, refined and as much of a piece of jewellery as it is a watch. The watch sits on a solid eighteen carat gold mesh band upon which the superbly made case seamlessly sits. There is a geometric, almost buckle style, design that frames the watch, all set with brilliant cut diamonds. Each side of the case is hand engraved, and done to the highest of standards.

The watch, reference 67025OR.Z.1068OR, was made as part of a limited series of models on the theme of these stunning jewellery watches in the 1990's. They came in a mix of metals and designs, but all were similar in their elegance. The dial is a classic white background with black printing. There is a chemin de fer inner minute track and Breguet style numerals. The fine solid gold hand set are painted black so that they stand out from the dial more clearly, due to their small size. The base of the dial is printed "Swiss Made", and is all original, damage free and not reprinted.

The watch is powered by an AP quartz caliber movement that has recently had a new battery installed, is working well, keeping perfect time. This is a back set movement, meaning that there is no winding crown set onto the side of the watch. This enhances the beauty of the watch from an aesthetic perspective and is in-keeping with the more jewellery feel to the piece overall.

The condition of the watch is superb throughout. There is a full set of hallmarks and Swiss control marks on the back of the watch. Along with the unique serial number stamped into the case back. The bracelet opens through a classic butterfly style clasp, all of which is original and fully stamped with Swiss control marks, and AP marks. The outside of the clasp has an applied "AP" logo. The bracelet will fit a 6.4" wrist.

The watch is in perfect original and unpolished condition. It is keeping perfect time. The watch does not come with box or papers.
