A Day
Observed

A story presented by

Scene 1:
‘Morning’

It was a bright cold day with glassy surfaces that looked hard.
Into the square frame he stood as if in a dream.

What emerged was precisely what he expected to find: a reflection of memory images. Contemplating his face in the photo frame he waited.

By the steady hands of his watch, he listened to time. Every day for the past sixteen days he saw her. Silver lingered in the crease of
an open book.

So absorbed in his thoughts
he hardly saw the platinum catch-all, the key, or the revelation locked inside those lapis lazuli cufflinks tossed unmistakably in cold blue.

A solid eighteen carat yellow gold chain, or necklace. This is a rare, beautiful quality, long elongated S link chain. The necklace features an unusal cut link clasp where the design of the link is incorporated into the closure. There is the addition of a safety catch that clasps over the opening to secure the necklace. The link is quite wide and has a good thickness thick. The links are approximately 1.5mm thick and each link is 0.45 inches long.

The purity of the gold gives the necklace a beautiful warm color to it. This is a very high quality and well made chain. It weights nearly twenty two and a half grams and is twenty six inches in length, so a good long size, allowing it to be taken off the neck without opening the clasp at all.  Made in France, it has the French poinçon of the eagle struck twice into the base of the clasp link. There is also a French maker mark stamped into the clasp link. However, the maker has not been identified.

Made in France, circa 1970's.
