This example has the Mark I dial with closed 6's in the depth rating, and the 'L' in Rolex perfectly centered under the coronet.   The model was soon upgraded to the 16800,  which saw the introduction of a sapphire crystal leaving this model with a fairly short production run of between 1976\/7-1979; however, some later serial numbers do show up.  Such is the Rolex way!  The dial and  \u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003eperfectly matched hands are in excellent condition with no flaws and a pleasing, very light, ivory patina to the lume.  The case condition is also very good with no major wear, having been very lightly polished over the years, but the case lines remain very sharp and thick.  The correct fat font bezel insert is in tact and starting to show a beautiful dark charcoal fade, with no scratches of pit marks.  The watch is fitted with  an earlier, post 1973, folded link Rolex Submariner Patented diver extension bracelet with flip lock.  A 9315 model, with 380 end pieces.  The bracelet's excellent condition also adds to the value of this watch, as these bracelets fit the mid '70's Red and Double Red models, as well as being made through to the late 1970's.  The case is fully stamped inside and out with the model number 1680 on the case back, and between the lugs.  The serial number of the watch is a 5.6 million dating it to mid 1978.  The punched paper work matches, and has the original 1680 Rolex case back sticker attached to it. The correct green plastic Submariner hang tag accompanies the set.  The watch is powered by the Rolex automatic 1570 movement in excellent condition and keeping perfect time.  A rare chance to own a complete and very clean iconic and collectible time piece.","brand":"Foundwell","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":5073144835,"sku":"","price":0.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0689\/2617\/products\/0004-A_b4fa6aae-8760-4b24-ba22-70f97c41305f.jpg?v=1437510845"},{"product_id":"rolex-oyster-datejust","title":"Rolex Oyster Perpetual DateJust","description":"\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eA rare Rolex Oyster Perpetual Datejust reference 1601 model with a 'pie pan' dial marked out with very rare eighteen carat gold stick markers that are inlaid with a white center.   This is a very rare coloured original Rolex made dial, and these markers are also a very rarely seen style. the 1555 calibre.  This 1803 model is fitted with the updated 1556 calibre movement which was initially launched by Rolex in 1965.  This example is in excellent condition, with the movement and case and in superb, original condition.  The case back still has the Rolex case back sticker still in tact.  The rare black, almost charcoal, dial with gold writing is untouched, and shows no sign of wear or damage and has all of the lume plots still in tact.  The day of the week wheel in this example is written in Spanish, which is less common.  The serial number of this watch is 3590XXX which dates it to circa 1972.  The hallmark on the case lug is still crisp, which illustrates that the case has received very little polishing over the years, highlighting that this example was worn very infrequently.  The solid eighteen carat Rolex \"President\" bracelet is in exceptional condition.  There is little to no wear in it, no 'sag'.  It also comes with one extra link.  The watch comes with There are a few striking and important things about it. First, this watch has an automatic movement, which is a rarity for vintage Cartier watches. This watch features a beautiful ETA movement featuring a beautiful rotor engraved \"Cartier, Inc.\" and that has two adjustments, indicating the time that Cartier spent regulating the movement for accuracy. Second, the watch features an extremely unusual dial featuring tritium luminous dots and tritium-filled hands. However, the real beauty, collect-ability and in fact desirability of this particular example is the fact that the dial has turned a stunning warm dark chocolate colour when strong light is caught on the dial. It is exceptional looking and very eye catching. All of the lume plots are there, as is the lume in the hands, which match to a pleasing ivory colour. The \"Air\" series from Rolex came to pass as a result of Mr. Hans Wilsdorf's, the founder of Rolex, deep admiration for the pilots of the RAF, and the sacrifices made during WWII, and the fact that many had chosen to wear his watches. Even if they were issued with other manufacturers watches by the M.O.D. Rolex introduced a number of \"Air\" branded watches; \"Air Giant\", \"Air Lion\",\"Air Tiger\" and this the \"Air King\". The \"Air King\" is perhaps the best known model in this series, and the only one that has stood the test of time, still featuring in the Rolex stable today. This is a great looking and very rare example of an early 1940's military chronograph with two large sub dials presented in excellent, very honest condition.  The black glossy dial has a clearly marked, silvered, sixty seconds track, skirted by a base 1000 telemeter scale.  An important tool for military purposes.  By means of the telemeter scale it is possible to measure the distance of a phenomenon which is both visible and audible. The chronograph hand is released at the instant the phenomenon is seen; it is stopped when the sound is heard, and its position on the scale shows at a glance the distance in kilometers or miles separating the phenomenon from the observer.  (Calibration is based on the speed at which sound travels through the air, viz, approximately 340 meters or 1,115 feet per second ). The early silver Heuer shield logo pops from the black dial.  All of the luminous material is perfect and in tact in each number, and fully in tact in the wide syringe hands. These hands, again, were an important function for a military watch when being used for operations at night, along with the application of white paint to the tip of the seconds sweep hand.  The watch is powered by the more unusual Landeron calibre 13 manual wind movement.  A further rarity for this movement for a Heuer watch is that the bridge is stamped 'Heuer' and has a movement serial number.  More often than not, at this time, they were not branded.  The inside of the case is also marked 'Heuer' and has an early serial number starting 51XXX.  This dates the watch to the early part of the 1940's.  This reference is different from the 345 and 347 which had larger, more rounded lugs, and the three-register 2447.  This, very wearable size case, has straight lugs, and has only been seen with a two-register configuration.  It is more commonly powered by the Valjoux 22.  The case has signs of very light signs of polishing, the snap case back especially.  This may have possibly been to take out the German military inscriptions that would have, more than likely, been engraved into it.  However, the lugs are still sharp and retain an attractive bevel when viewing the watch straight Spring\/Summer runway show.  It is based on a classic piece that was made by Jaeger LeCoultre in the 1920's.  The 'Harnais' pocket watch, as it is named, is designed to be looped through a handbag, or luggage handle.  It can either be made visible outside the bag, or securely tucked inside the bag.  The piece is powered by a quartz movement meaning there is no winding or setting necessary once it is set on the correct time.  The dial is classic in its design and features a date window at the six o'clock position.  The piece comes in its beautiful original wooden and card presentation box, and has all the original paperwork from its original sale in New York in 2008.","brand":"Foundwell","offers":[{"title":"1.75 \/ signed by Hermès, it is believed that it was retailed by Hermès and that the two boxes were purchased at the same time, in the same store.  The set was purchased together from the same private collector.  Hermès had a long term relationship with Jaeger-LeCoultre.  They made a number of clocks and watches for the luxury French retailer for over fifty years.  These pieces were not always
