A Day
Observed

A story presented by

Scene 1:
‘Morning’

It was a bright cold day with glassy surfaces that looked hard.
Into the square frame he stood as if in a dream.

What emerged was precisely what he expected to find: a reflection of memory images. Contemplating his face in the photo frame he waited.

By the steady hands of his watch, he listened to time. Every day for the past sixteen days he saw her. Silver lingered in the crease of
an open book.

So absorbed in his thoughts

A pair of Van Cleef & Arpels eighteen carat gold engine turned cufflinks. These high quality and classic cufflinks are a thick gauge of metal and have a handsome engine turned design to the front of each panel. One panel on each pair is pinned with a hinge, backed by a piece of tension sprung steel that makes them very easy to pass through the cuffs. They are made by one of the world's premier luxury jewellers and, as one would come to expect, they are very high quality, and still have tight strong hinges. The design of these cufflinks are great. The panels are set at an angle so that they bring the cuff closer together, giving a better appearance to the sleeve of the shirt. They are signed "VCA", with registration number 103508, also double stamped with the eagle head, which is the French assay mark for eighteen gold, as well as being marked '750'. They also have the makers mark for Georges L'Enfant, a jeweller in Paris, on 47 rue des Petits-Champs, who manufactured both men's and women's jewellery forVan Cleef & Arpels. Made in France, circa  1960's.
