It is believed that this crest may be some some relation to the Mackwood's of Ceylon.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe ring is signed Tiffany \u0026amp; Co. and is made in eighteen carat gold, making it an earlier example of their work, circa 1890.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Foundwell","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":1233423755,"sku":"FWMJ278","price":3995.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0689\/2617\/products\/27_02.jpg?v=1426533548"},{"product_id":"money-clip-with-telescopic-pencil","title":"Money Clip with Telescopic Pencil","description":"\u003cp\u003eA stunning and quite unique fourteen carat yellow and green gold money clip featuring a solid gold 1911 U.S minted 2 1\/2 Dollar coin mounted into the center.  The clip is highlighted with a cabochon sapphire at the point where the cash or cards can be inserted.  The most interesting and unique element to this clip is the solid green gold telescopic pencil set to the left of it.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis piece is not signed Cartier, but it is without doubt a piece made for Cartier, New York.  There is the original owner's name and address engraved into the back of the clip.  However, most of this has now been either polished or for away from use.  In the center circle on the back still remains the very prestigious address of 280 Park Ave.  The original name is no longer fully legible.  Along the bottom part, where the slightest part of the '14k' can be seen to the offset left part, would have been the Cartier signature.  Hence why the 14k is offset left.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eResearch on similar pieces have unearthed an almost identical money clip with gold coin and cabochon sapphire in the same place.  The rear of which has stamped Cartier reference numbers on it.  The exact same propelling pencil has been found, signed Cartier.  Also, the featuring of a cabochon sapphire on the piece is a trademark symbol of Cartier.  It has featured on many men's accessories and jewellery piece from this time, and is still widely sued across the brand today.  With all of these factors combined with the overall beauty and quality of this piece, it is fair to conclude that this piece was made for Cartier.  However, it cannot be conclusively described as such due to the lack of signature, or reference stamps.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRegardless of the maker, this is one of the finest money clips to come out of the art Deco period, and remains in superb condition.  Made in America. This classic lift arm lighter model was introduced by Dunhill in 1928, and first appeared their catalog in 1929. This particular example has London import marks from Switzerland dating it to 1928. The lighter has an 8 day Swiss made clock movement set into the body which is wound and set via the door on the rear of the body. All pieces are original and bear the UK import stamps. The dial has been re-finished, but in a sensitive and classic way true to the original, except the 5,6 and 7 markers are not as long as the ones seen on the original examples. The Lighter has an inscription under the clock face to a British military officer who fought during World War 1 with gallantry and determination. The piece also comes with an original Dunhill service box that is addressed to the Captain. The box has a 1937 violet 3d King George VI postage stamp indicating Captain Noble sent the piece to Dunhill for service around that time.
