Scene 1:
‘Morning’

It was a bright cold day with glassy surfaces that looked hard.
Into the square frame he stood as if in a dream.

What emerged was precisely what he expected to find: a reflection of memory images. Contemplating his face in the photo frame he waited.

By the steady hands of his watch, he listened to time. Every day for the past sixteen days he saw her. Silver lingered in the crease of
an open book.

So absorbed in his thoughts
he hardly saw the platinum catch-all, the key, or the revelation locked inside those lapis lazuli cufflinks tossed unmistakably in cold blue.

‘Noon’

He remained.Trapped in that enormous room,
unmistakably familiar in feeling yet so peculiar.

Above the mantle was
displayed an Austrian hound
of impeccable integrity.

His gaze fell on the letter opener. By accident she had learnt more about his life from the contents of that letter than anywhere.

Cleopatra’s eye reflected
the sun. Through the hypnotism
of precious metals there
emerged a dark slender shadow.

‘Evening’

All this time light was receding from the room.

“I should explain why I spend so much time here”, said the silhouette. Leaves moved like shadows across her eyes.

It’s not too late to turn back. Time moved with faint sounds.

He unscrewed the telescopic cup, rolled and remained still. Black eyes on the dice prophesied a new cycle.

‘Night’

Everything went crashing black.

Pale graceful hands placed
the gold stud box delicately
on the table.

He lit a match to make sure the watch had really stopped. Smoke lingered from its vesta case.

A brass desk model of the Anglo-French SEPECAT Jaguar attack aircraft. This is a rare scale model, the likes of which were commissioned by the makers of the actual manufacturers of the aircraft to dedicated precision model makers and often given to high ranking servicemen and women, members of the air forces or government's that commissioned their order, usually in very limited numbers. It is well detailed with the different movable flaps and parts marked out on the wings and fuselage.

Constructed as a joint project between the British Royal Air Force and the French Air Force in 1965, the aircraft was designed to be close air support and nuclear strike role. The creation of SEPECAT; Société Européenne de Production de l'Avion d'École de Combat et d'Appui Tactique – the "European company for the production of a combat trainer and tactical support aircraft", saw the use of parts from French manufacturer Breguet, and the British Aircraft Corporation (B.A.C). The British light strike/tactical support versions were the most demanding design, requiring supersonic performance, superior avionics, a cutting edge nav/attack system of more accuracy and complexity than the French version, moving map display, laser range-finder and marked-target seeker (LRMTS). As a result, the initial Br.121 design needed a thinner wing, redesigned fuselage, a higher rear cockpit, and after-burning engines. While putting on smiling faces for the public, maintaining the illusion of a shared design, the British design departed from the French sub-sonic Breguet 121 to such a degree that it was effectively a new design!

The first of eight prototypes flew on 8th September 1968. The French Air Force took first delivery of their one hundred and sixty Jaguar's they ordered in 1973. They flew operationally in conflicts in Mauritania, Chad and the Gulf War in 1990. The Royal Air Force took delivery of their one hundred and sixty five ordered, joining 54 (F) squadron in 1974. They also went on to be deployed in the Gulf War.

In total nearly five hundred and fifty aircraft were built. They served in the air-force's of a number of countries, with Oman being the last country to operate the aircraft all the way up until 2014.

This model is a rare example in perfect original condition. The base connects to the undercarriage of the aircraft by a post into a movable ball bearing joint allowing it to be positioned in many ways. European made, circa 1960's. A great piece of military history, and an unusual  find.
